Purpose

Post-installed fasteners to concrete and masonry are on the market since decades and are produced by several European manufacturers.

These products are relevant for the safety and stability in buildings, but their CE marking is still voluntary because no harmonized standard exists.

Post-installed fasteners have been dealt by several ETAGs. These ETAGs contain appropriate testing and assessment methods, developed together by TABs, universities and the industry, and have been transposed into EADs under the CPR.

These EADs could be now used as a basis to develop harmonized European standards on post-installed fasteners.

The purpose of the NWI consists in transferring the technical background developed in the above mentioned EADs in the standardization process, following CPR Art 19.4.
