Scope

This document specifies the algorithm verification categorization, the verification process, test indicators,
test methods, the verification system, and the verification data requirements for predictive maintenance.

This document applies to the test verification of condition monitoring, fault diagnosis, life prediction, and
other algorithms in predictive maintenance.

Purpose

Efficient production significantly relies on the availability of the production equipment. In order to guarantee the intended usage of equipment and to avoid unplanned downtimes, the status of the equipment and its components need to be monitored and assessed. Based on the assessment under the intended processes, the remaining lifetime prediction and possible maintenance activities can be made. This process is called Predictive Maintenance (PM).
